Fall fading out
As we are gently in the last days of fall, and the trees still add some warmth to the landscape with their colored leaves, I planned to make a tour in the Gasteren valley. However the weather was announced to be rather rainy and the access to the valley is through a gorge exposed to rock fall, so I dropped the idea.
I traveled to Kandersteg anyway and decided to make the short hike up to the Oeschinen lake (1578m) instead.
This place has its very own magic, and especially off season when you own the place with this deep calm all around...
During summer time I ascended already quite a few of the surrounding mountains and passes such as the Fründenhorn, Doldenhorn or Hohtürli in the past. But right now I'm glad to stay down at the lake. The slopes look more hostile than ever...
