Sunrise on the Jura slope

After an intense week I needed to get out and up in the Jura height to breath some fresh air... And with the relative late sunrise around 8am my intention was to get as high as possible before sunrise to have a view over Lake Geneva.

The first train of the day brought me to Montricher where I started to walk in complete darkness. Which was ok for the first part over fields in the plain towards the Jura fold, but a bit more difficult once in the forest of the slope.

But soon dawn kicked in and with some delay light made it into the forests as well.

I was hoping for a clearing with a view just before sunrise, but the forest was very dens and I started already evaluating some trees for climbing...

But just in the right moment I got close enough to the timberline to have a glimpse over to Mont Blanc, already lit by the first sunray

The golden light was absolutely stunning and luckily I could use it for another portrait shot in the forest :)

This happend to be the last week-end before the driving down of cattle from the Jura pastures into the valley, and I profited from the hospitality at Les Croisettes to have a coffee or two on the sunny terrasse before heading down to Lac de Joux
